Why shouldn’t I look to heaven
When I need to be forgiven
Turn to you to ask what is right
Look at me tell me what is wrong
See the need inside, see the pain
Those hungry mouths, needy again
When the night falls
My duty calls
Put on my mask
No need to ask
What more can I do
I need to stay true
The bright lights scarring the midnight
Heart thumping, pulse racing with fright
Need to find a newer way home
Through the trappings, this fun is gone
Free again to make my choices
Free again to fear the vices |
