About A Woman
She gyrates and rotates
Never exposing too much,
From the tip of her nose
To her waist, on down to her toes;
But it’s not what is seen,
Not what can be looked through;
It is what can be looked into,
Her heart, her mind, her fears,
Oh yes, and her hopes too;
She screams for attention,
Yearns it, craves- hates it;
Invisibility suits her best
When she is finally noticed,
For now flaws may be seen,
Maybe there is no interest
After having been exposed,
She is not shallow nor hallow;
The virgin or the virgin slut?
Neither fits all of her,
Nor makes her complete,
Her mysteries are deep,
Complicated, endearing, enthralling;
Wit does not beguile or defy her,
For she is able- capable of holding her own
In a fair fight-
God forbid a meeting of the minds;
Love scares her if ill-defined,
If it does not meet preconfigured ideals,
The known is reason enough to run away;
Unknowns scare her but freeze her
Staring into the headlights-
Run, stay, left, right, up, down?
This feeling, this feeling is so new;
What to do, what to do?
Run if it makes you feel-
Heaven forbid it should make you think;
Stay if it intrigues you-
But be wary- en garde mon amour-
Cache toi ton couer;
What brings this your way,
At this time, in this place-
Veiled in invisibility,
Cloaked in invincibility,
Bathed by the glow of fate?
A weakened will,
Desperate sense of self;
True face of transparency;
The light glows, she cannot run,
They might know why
She cannot return a reply;
Strength is not her friend,
Nor her faith,
To her but not to others;
They are blind to her dilemma;
She speaks, she cries, she tries
To explore a weakened state.
She splinters, she cracks, she bends-
She never breaks...she mends
As easily as a right thought.
She cannot be bought,
Sold, traded, used or abused
Sans permissions true.
